MISSION:
BON AMI (French for great friend) Foundation is an ECO- HUMAN- and ANIMAL-FRIENDLY not-for profit organization that marries two great causes: CANCER SURVIVORS and STRAY CATS and DOGS. Our programs and services empower CANCER SURVIVORS so they have the knowledge and options to [hopefully] prevent reoccurrences and/or new cancers… as well as saving the lives of STRAY DOGS and CATS. BON AMI Foundation provides healthful alternative lifestyle services and activities that include the use of dog and cat therapy (a Pet a day keeps the doctors away), exercise and nutrition, as well as social events and educational symposiums. Our [trained] dogs and people-friendly cats {aka Healing Companions) must meet certain criteria : our pooches are extensively trained by Animal Behavior Consultant & Trainer, Janice Triptow. Companion dogs that have gone through training and certification, but do not meet expectations as “Companion Healing” dogs, will be adopted by senior citizens, employees, and/or family members of cancer survivors. Our goal is to help CANCER SURVIVORS not only SURVIVE but also THRIVE.
